A new do

A little over a week ago I just jumped up and got my hair straightened. It must be a reaction to the boredom I have been experiencing lately. I have never been one to get bored but lately thats how I feel. Its not fun! I keep wondering how long I will have to do these same routines. Wake up, get dressed, get Ajani dressed, give him breakfast, make his lunch, walk to the train, drop him off to school, go to work, go to lunch, work some more, get happy its time to go home, go pick up Ajani, go home, make dinner, get ready for bed, and wake up and do it all over again. It's making me crazy!! I love weekends though.

But thats the end of that rant. Luckily there is no boredom with camera in hand!

My new work out plan!

I have taken up the Hula Hoop!!! I heard that it is great exercise. I have been looking for one since last summer and I finally found one a few weeks ago. The one my best friend bought me was too small. So after going into Party City for tablecloths, I came out with a Hula Hoop.

And you should see me hooping it up around the house. For a second I thought I was ready for a Hula hoop competition... check out this video and see why I have a LONG way to go!

Today I am traveling to a foreign land....

The Gym.

Early February I joined my local (newly renovated :)) YMCA...

Today will be my first visit, triggered by the 15 pounds I need to loose a.k.a. seeing the second payment coming out of my account a.k.a. the 10 pairs of jeans I cannot fit in my closet a.k.a the new wardrobe I refuse to buy! But I really, truly refuse to watch that money leave my account each month and walk over to a place that I never walk over to and use the facilities!

I have never been one for the gym but I guess we were destined to eventually cross paths. I LOVE TO EAT!!

Lately I feel the need to get stronger and loose these extra pounds that don't seem like they are going to leave on their own. I don't own a scale but whenever I go to my Mom's house we end up having a debate over whether or not her scale is accurate. I always loose. So off I go... if only I could get a ride there! Then I would be in business :)

As you can see I have been feeling very reminiscent of my little boy. He is getting so big and lately I can really see him maturing. In June he will be the big SIX years old. I cannot believe it!

April 2007

I forgot all about these pictures I took one day hanging out with Ajani... just the two of us. I was on my way back to Adorama to return the fish eye lens I rented. But not before I took a few pictures of my favorite guy. This was almost a year ago and he has grown so much since then.

Luckily I ran into a photographer friend of mine on the way to the train station and he snapped a few pictures of me and my boy! Thanks J!

Weekend fun!

We had a blast this weekend. Jeroy's company had a family event at the Maritime Aquarium in Connecticut and we headed out to join in the fun. Ajani was bouncing off of the walls with excitement and I didn't even have my camera! So I whipped out my iPhone and put it to work...

The Aquarium was great and we also saw a Sea Monters Imax movie which I think I enjoyed the most out of us three. We also saw a really cool Spongebob 4D movie. The chair was bouncing and rocking around... fun!

Then we went over to the water.

I love my boys! We always have so much fun together.

More Birthday pics...

From the night of my birthday on the 27th... the time stamp has the wrong date. We hung out at Fashion 40 lounge with my best friend Tish and my coworker Samuel who was the camera man... thanks Samuel!

What's with the Hula Hoop you ask? I have wanted one since the summer so Tish bought one for me. Only a best friend would do that! She even took it to work that day! All in all it was a very low key birthday for me. Full of love and hugs!

Birthday Fun!!

I had so much fun on my birthday and the days after spent celebrating with my loved ones. As soon as I get the pictures from my coworker I will post them from my actual birthday... the day I turned 25... again... yes I am sticking to that story!

But as for my birthday weekend (yes I need a whole weekend, it took time for Jeroy to get that concept also) I went to Connecticut and Jeroy showed me an awesome time on his turf!

My favorite part was going to East Rock Park, unfortunately the weather was doing some crazy things so we didn't walk to the top but we had fun taking pictures along the way.

We had lots of fun playing trivia games at my favorite pool hall called Blue Cube. Ate lots of yummy food and I went Go Cart racing for the first time. I was in the lead for a few minutes before a little boy shot out of nowhere! And Jeroy was right behind him!!! Don't know how I did that, next time I am not ever hitting the brakes! I also won our mini golf game with the craziest shot ever. I wish I had footage of this amazing shot. In order to win I needed to get the last hole with one stoke and I did it! It was nuts. First of all, I hit it too hard and it flew past the whole, hit the wall, flew back pass the hole and and rolled back into it! Jeroy was shocked!

Before we left I had to stop on the beach... can you say freezing!?! So glad the sun was shining!

All in all it was a blast!

It's my BIRTHDAY!!!!

WOOHOO!!! Headed out to dinner. Hopefully I will have some fun pictures to share.

A long weekend...

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and Valentine's day! My long weekend ended up longer when I got the killer flu! I hadn't been feeling too hot most of the week but at work on Thursday it reached its peak! I had the worse cough I remember ever having and I felt so weak... this description is an understatement compared to how bad I felt. It definitely put a damper of my Valentine's day but my Vera Wang bouquet of 13 lavender roses sure put lots of smiles on my face. Then Jeroy came over with MORE FLOWERS, this time it was a dozen red roses with 6 more white roses mixed in there! They were so beautiful and I was so excited to see him... and the flowers! We ended up having a take-out dinner and watching a movie. I was so sick that there wasn't much else we could do.

The next morning I didn't even get out of bed. I had to call out of work and lucky for me I could hear Jeroy getting Ajani ready for school in the background. I kept trying to get up and help and he kept sending me back to bed, I really was no good to them. They went off to school without me (a first for us) and I slept. I only got up when it was time to pick up Ajani from school and even then I looked horrible! The rest of the weekend was a little better and we made a little trip to Ikea. I LOVE Ikea!!

Overall it was fun and Jeroy had taken off some days so we had lots of time together before he returned back to CT.

Now I am just looking forward to my BIRTHDAY next week. February 27th but please don't ask my age LOL. Jeroy and I both took vacation so we will have 7 days straight to spend together. I LOVE it! Well I may do a shoot in CT but that makes me happy too and he will be with me... what else can I ask for!
