When you love someone you open yourself up to suffering, that's the sad truth. Maybe they'll break your heart. Maybe you'll break their heart and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks.

Accent Wall

My new accent wall makes me so happy! It took a while to get the exact idea together and choose the paint color but I am so happy with the results! 

Unfortunately in an attempt to touch up the paint I broke my beautiful elephant. Haven't had a chance to try and put him back together again but its not looking good :(

Visualize Peace...

That is exactly what I am trying to do. Life is full of so many ups and downs so right now I am trying to remember not to let the "downs" make he forget the "ups." 

If you look closely the words "visualize peace" are written on the wall behind me in graffiti. 

You have my heart... chair.

I have been eyeing this chair for over a year now. I absolutely adore it! It is the Panton chair by Vitra. Very modern and very cool. I would love to have it in white but I added the red so that you could have a good look at it. What great design. I am so close to finding a spot for it in my heart... ummmm I mean home.

 What really inspired me today was the use of this chair by Mint Home Decor found via Apartment Therapy.

Beautiful use of this chair that I usually see next to a table in most design photos. Inspiration!!

Wall art + camera = big smile

I would like to hang some artwork in the great big empty wall space over my couch and this rocks! But I do feel like I would still want to hang framed art as well. This vinyl camera by Badass Custom Decals would definitely make a statement, but will it would in my room? SO much to think about! Plus they come in lots of colors. Check out the website. Very cool stuff. They even have headboard shaped decals.

Brooklyn!!

I have seen this very cool poster all over during my obsession with interior design. Now that I have almost finished painting my living room I have to have one. But I have to decide which one. They are made by Ork Posters.

I painted mostly white over my once beloved burnt orange and cardinal red walls. I didn't abandon my love of color completely so I have a blue wall as the much needed splash of color. I cannot decide whether to get the classic looking Black on Black poster or the Blue on Tan.

These are actually screen prints, so not your ordinary poster.

Summer Fun, Fun, Fun

Since school has been out for the summer we have been having lots of fun. Mostly getting to spend time in CT with Jeroy, riding our bikes on the best trail ever (well my first bike trail but it ROCKS!), a great couples vacation to Tampa, football for Ajani, and just plain fun, sun and beaches.

Jeroy has all of the pictures from Tampa so I have to wait to get my hands on those.

4th of July at Hammonasset beach was so much fun. We rode our bikes along the bike trail and Ajani and I really broke in our new bikes that day.

I am pretty sure the days when spent in CT this month was the most time Ajani has ever spent outdoors and he had a ball. He even climbed the little tree in front of Jeroy's house.

Ajani and Bumblebee (his bike) about to hit the big bike trail. Besides causing an accident where I ended up hitting the pavement like a sack of rocks while leaving a yellow streak on Smurfette (my bike), and running into a bush at the end of a pretty big hill he did so well! This was the day he became a rider!

This has been a great summer so far. Now to unpack my clothes from Tampa since I have been back for 4 days now. For some reason unpacking just isn't as much fun! 

Riding!!! iPhone Chronicles

It's been almost 20 years (eeek that makes me sound very seasoned) since I owned and rode a bike. Ajani received a bike for his birthday last month and since then I have been interested in getting back on there myself. As we searched for his bike I was riding around the store testing the adult models.

Today I got a brand spanking new Huffy cruiser. I new it was the one right away because as a little girl I learned to ride on a Huffy that was unfortunately stolen. I just got back from riding my new bike and it was so much fun getting the hang of it again.

Also in even bigger news... Ajani got his training wheels off and learned how to ride on 2 wheels. This happened within an hour. I am so proud of him!!! I didn't get a photo because I was too busy riding myself and he was done by the time I whipped out the iPhone.

Lost in Wonderland

I have been such a bad blooger. I say "bad blogger" because I have had lots of stuff to talk about but just haven't. I have been so busy lately. Working on Nasilele Photography, being a Mommy that isn't always glued to the computer (well I try), my son turning 7 years old, and other crazy stuff like the flood in my studio.

There has been so much going on and I have lots of pictures to share so hopefully I will get to that soon. As for today my mind is on getting ready to spend the weekend with my babe in his state. We have been going long distance strong for almost 2 years now and today is actually the day we met 2 years ago. So here is a pic we took in May while visiting Baltimore.
